Chha Mana Atha Guntha by Fakir Mohan Senapati

Chha Maana Atha Guntha, written by Fakir Mohan Senapati, Father of Modern Oriya Literature is a 19th Century’s Oriya novel. It is the first Indian novel to deal with the exploitations of landless peasants by the feudal Lord during British Rule. It was written much before the October Revolution of Russia. (14 January 1843 – 14 June 1918)

This novel has been translated in to English as “Six Acres and a Third” and published by University of California Press.
A famous movie has been made on this novel in Oriya language. Most of us must have seen the movie decades ago, on DoorDarshan Oriya Telecast.

  27. As a odian, I feel very shameless that I haven’t rad this book. I have heard about this book through my entire college life. But its a shame for me that I never been able to read this honorable work of F. M. Senapati.
